ACTIVISM:
Projects and Allies
Non-proft involvement and Volunteering
In the desert bordertown of El Paso, sustainability is hot topic. As a board member, I’ve developed projects, written grants and supported educational volunteering events that aim to increase education around how to live a sustainable life in the desert. I lead the eco-exhale yoga series, eco-hikes and the up-and-coming project to multiply trees using tree propagation and partnerships with local growers. Our Eco builds project to build things in community is launching coming soon fall 2023! Follow us and stay informed!
AFJM is the outreach branch of the American Monetary Institute. As outreach director and social media fellow I spend my time learning and simplifying the message of monetary and economic reform so people of all walks of life can understand and support this cause. There is a legislative pathway to economic justice, and it begins with asking where money comes from and who has the power to create it. Check out the website and social media to learn more. Also stay tuned for offerings and presentations with our speakers bureau! We work closely with Move To Amend, and Stop the Money Pipeline.
CCL works at a National level to empower ordinary citizens to ask their representatives to support climate policy, through local chapters and action teams we build a network of activated citizens who bring awareness of carbon limiting legislation, electrification, and carbon capture. I have volunteered since 2018 to support the Spanish language team and bring more active citizens to lobby meetings and town halls. I offer yoga for activists and Spanish language outreach presentations.

Yoga for Activists
With Eco El Paso, Move to Amend, Alliance for Just Money, Amancer, and Keystone Heritage Park, as well as online with the Citizens Climate Lobby Inclusion Conference, I have facilitated over 30 sessions of Eco-Exhale Yoga. These practices bring together the style of restorative yoga I was trained in at Yoga Lab in State College, based on LYT (physical therapist-created yoga style) and ecological consciousness. My sessions range from storytelling of life's evolutions to appreciating underappreciated parts of our bodies that need love and attention. You can see a sample of my work here:
LANGUAGE and learning EXPLORATION
Through the work of Concordia Language Villages, I have been a language teacher of French to beginners, medium and advanced levels in high school age participants. I am going on 5 years as a counselor.
