Fernanda is a scientist-activist-artist who grew up as a global citizen, primarily in the international setting of the El Paso - Juarez community. Fernanda studied biology & biomedical engineering at UTEP, and biobehavioral health at Penn State and has been a lifelong learner within social and environmental justice movements. She has volunteered with Citizens Climate Lobby and other allies on a national level such as the Alliance for Just Money, and Move to Amend. She works in building mass awareness of social capital in all forms to support community, health, creativity, and sustainability. At a local level in El Paso TX, she is working to build a timebank, library of things, and sustainability-oriented community building project called Eco-Builds!

As a yoga teacher and artist, she brings awareness of our human need for movement and creativity in connection to our environment and our influence in our environment.
